There used to be a guy on TV who could draw any picture from 5 randomly placed lines. People would send in random combinations of 5 separate lines and a request for a certain drawing. This guy never got stumped. You may ask, why the heck am I telling you this?
On this Series of Tapes, I have included brief examples of written music. The exception is that I talk more about visualizing many improvisations off of the written ideas. Since this series deals with fluid improvisation, I do not include the improvisations in the written music. The main philosophy is to develop the advanced skill of creating fluid and limitless improvisations off of written sequences. I thoroughly explore the possibility of developing the skill to be able to play and create off of any written idea that strikes you!! In this series, I extensively explore developing the skill Improvisational Variation. This technique involves subtely varying small parts of the original them. The stylistic developments & systems here are identical to "The Genetic Funk DVD Series". After I completed the first 5 DVD's, I literally had 100's of remaining themes. Creatively, I wanted to continue so I did these as one huge melting pot-type brainstorm. During this series, I did a lot of genetic fusing, using different Drummers molded as one!
